Image of Buttercup || Buttercup floral art print

The charming buttercup flower has many symbols attached to it including happiness, playfulness, childishness, and ingratitude. In fairy lore, buttercups were created by youthful fairies. They wanted a miser to share his gold, and when he didn’t, they cut his money purse open and transformed the falling gold coins into dazzling yellow buttercups.

This illustration was created as part of a 30-day art challenge, and each print is linked with a song. For this print, it's Reneé Dominique “That Piece of My Heart.” (
