i miss you so much it feels like my skin is on fire.

i can’t eat and i can’t sleep i miss you so much.

everything i see reminds me of you.

every song is you.

you haunt me every night and fade to painful nothingness in the morning.

i miss you so much i wanna scream until my vocal chords burst.

i would jump off the edge of the earth

if i knew there was a chance

i would brush up against you

"Poem #14, 2020

“From Us” exhibit at Gamut Gallery

“From Us” — a collaborative creative project by poets Molly-Margaret Johnson & Kareem Rahma, thirty visual artists, and Gamut Gallery.

The project began with thirty untitled and unattributed poems brought about by Johnson and Rahma. The lack of accreditation allowed the poems to breathe, going beyond preconceptions of race, gender, and sexual orientation. Collaborating with thirty local and international artists, the beauty and complexity of the written pose transcended even further. Each artist chose one poem and was given the freedom to deconstruct and reconstruct the letterforms into an evolved vision.

For the exhibit, I chose poem #14 and created eleven limited-edition, hand-pulled screen prints.
